About

Good things, done your way.

Stryver began with one family, and a simple idea: do more of what makes you happy, little and often.

How it started

You can’t pour from an empty cup.

Life gets busy.

Between work, family and all the everyday stuff, it’s easy to put the things that make us happy at the bottom of the list.

We love our family life, but after we had children our priorities shifted. We weren’t making as much time as we’d like for some of the things we enjoyed: 5 km runs, reading, date nights, adventures with the kids. Things that made us happy, whether we were doing them for ourselves or sharing them with others.

We didn’t want to turn our lives upside down. So we tried something simple.

  1. We picked a few thingsThe ones we wanted to do more often.
  2. Set achievable targetsNo big resolutions. No pressure to be perfect.
  3. Kept track, little and oftenMaking time when we could.

We called it our year of 365 good things: not 365 different things, just a handful we enjoyed, adding up over the year.

What changed for us

And it worked.

Little by little, we were doing more of what made us happy, and we felt the difference.

We were happier and more content. Our weeks felt better balanced, and a spark that busy years can quietly dim came back. A busy week cost nothing; a good weekend made up for it. And keeping count showed us how far we'd come.

That was our family’s story, but it isn’t only a parent’s story.

Stryver is for anyone

  • who wants to keep what they love front of mind, and do more of it

What Stryver is

You choose a few good things you’d like to do more of, how many, and for how long. Then log them whenever they happen, at your own pace.

Stryver keeps them front of mind, shows how often you’re really doing them and, over time, how your weeks feel. When a Stryve ends, you get a recap of everything you did.

On your own, or together. Everything works solo; family and friends are a bonus.

What we believe

Freedom and control, never added pressure. You choose what to do, how much, and when. Stryver won’t schedule your week or tell you what you have to do today. Miss a day and nothing breaks.

Honest, not pushy. If a target is getting tight, Stryver tells you, kindly, along with what’s still possible. Every good thing you do counts, and we’ll never shame you, compare you with other people, or use guilt to get you to open the app.

Solo first, together by choice. Every Stryve can be just yours. When you’d like company, you can share one with family or friends, add Stryve Buddies to see each other’s progress, or log for your children. It’s always your choice, and you choose what each person sees.

Your privacy is yours. A Stryve of your own is private unless you decide otherwise. We keep what we need to run Stryver, you can download all of it at any time, and you can delete your account whenever you like.

We never sell your personal data. Not to advertisers, not to sponsors, not to anyone.

A lifestyle app, not a health app. Stryver helps you keep count of good things. It doesn’t diagnose, treat or give medical advice, and we don’t track health conditions.

How Stryver makes money

We’d rather tell you plainly.

Stryver is there for everyone, and most people won’t need to pay. Logging, the whole catalogue of activities, joining any Stryve, doing it with others, recaps and downloading your data are there for everyone.

Stryver Plus is an optional subscription for people who’d like more: more Stryves of their own at once, more My Stryvers, their whole history, and deeper insights. It’s billed through the App Store or Google Play, and you can cancel any time. See what’s in it.

In future, clearly labelled offers inside the app. We plan to show the occasional offer in Stryver that fits what you’re doing, for example a running brand if you log runs. Here’s what that will and won’t mean:

  • Offers will always be labelled as offers, and you’ll be able to turn them off in Preferences.
  • They’ll be chosen inside Stryver. Partners won’t receive information about you.
  • They’ll never use anything about your My Stryvers, your own activity names, or activities such as smoke-free and vape-free days.
  • Some ready-made Stryves may be supported by a sponsor. They’ll be labelled, and sponsors will only ever see anonymous totals for groups of at least 10 people.

Our privacy notice has the detail.
