Terms of use

Last updated 15 October 2026

These terms apply from when Stryver launches. Until then, people testing the app use the testing terms.

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Stryver. We’ve tried to keep them short and clear. Please read them, along with our privacy notice, which explains how we look after your information.

The short version

  • Stryver is for adults (18 and over). Children can take part as a parent or guardian’s My Stryver.
  • What you log is yours. We use it to run Stryver for you.
  • Be kind: don’t post anything unlawful, hurtful or that isn’t yours to share.
  • Stryver is a lifestyle and wellbeing app. It isn’t medical advice.
  • Stryver Plus is optional, billed by Apple or Google, and you can cancel any time.
  • Your legal rights as a consumer aren’t affected by anything here.

Who we are

Stryver is provided by Stryver Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17522956), whose registered office is at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ (“Stryver”, “we”, “us”).

You can contact us using our contact form. For anything about your information, choose “Privacy or my data”.

Who can use Stryver

  • You must be 18 or over to have an account. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up. Please give it accurately.
  • Under-18s can take part only as a My Stryver, added by their parent or guardian (see below).
  • One account per person. Your account is personal to you; please don’t share it or let anyone else use it.
  • Stryver is offered first in the United Kingdom.

Your account

  • You sign in with Apple, Google or a code sent to your email. Keep access to these secure: anyone who can get into your email or your Apple or Google account may be able to get into Stryver.
  • Tell us straight away using our contact form if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Profile › Manage account. It’s deleted 30 days later, and signing in before then keeps it.

What Stryver is, and isn’t

Stryver helps you keep count of good things you’d like to do more of. It’s a lifestyle and wellbeing app.

  • It isn’t medical advice and it isn’t a health service. Nothing in Stryver, including targets, suggestions, milestones, guidance or anything drafted by “Build it for me”, is a recommendation that a particular activity is safe or suitable for you.
  • You choose what you do, and how much. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or haven’t been active for a while, please check with a doctor before starting new physical activity. If you drink heavily, please talk to a GP before cutting down.
  • Comparisons and milestones (“Picture this”) are for fun. They’re approximate.
  • Some activities are for adults only, and are never available for a My Stryver.

Sharing, Stryve Buddies and invitations

  • A shared Stryve is open. Everyone in it sees each other’s names, faces and progress in that Stryve. Invitations say so before anyone joins.
  • Stryve Buddies only see, or log for you in, the Stryves where you’ve chosen to let them. You can stop this at any time.
  • When you invite people, you choose who to send the link to. Please only invite people who’d want to hear from you.
  • If you start a shared Stryve, you can change it, hand it over, close it or remove people, as the app allows. Changes to activities are offered to members as a new version; nobody loses what they’ve logged.

My Stryvers

A My Stryver is a child under 18 without their own account, whom you add so you can log for them.

  • You may only add a My Stryver if you are their parent or legal guardian, and you confirm this each time.
  • You’re responsible for what you log for them, for choosing who you share them with, and for which shared Stryves you add them to (everyone in a shared Stryve sees a My Stryver you add to it).
  • Use a first name or nickname only. Don’t add surnames, photos or other details that could identify a child.
  • You can stop logging for, or delete, a My Stryver at any time. Our privacy notice explains how we look after their information.

What you put in Stryver

Your content is yours. That includes what you log, the names you give Stryves, your profile, your custom activities, and anything you write.

You give us permission to store, copy and display your content as needed to run Stryver for you and for the people you choose to share with. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except where other people already have their own copies of shared Stryves, and except for anything we must keep by law.

Please don’t use Stryver to post or do anything that:

  • is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexual or violent;
  • bullies, shames or pressures someone, including through what you choose to see of them;
  • shares someone else’s personal information without their permission;
  • pretends to be someone else, or suggests a connection with an organisation that isn’t true;
  • uses names or trade marks that aren’t yours;
  • advertises, spams, or collects information about other people;
  • tries to get round our limits or security, or to reach information you aren’t allowed to see.

How we keep Stryver kind and safe

  • Names other people will see (such as Stryve names, profile names, My Stryver names and custom activities) are checked automatically before they’re shown. If a name can’t be used, we tell you, and you can ask us to look at it. A person may then review it.
  • We may decline, hide or remove content that breaks these terms, and we may limit, suspend or close an account for serious or repeated breaches, or where we need to protect someone. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
  • To report someone, tap Report on their page in the app (from your Buddies or a Stryve’s Members), or use our contact form.

Ready-made Stryves, sponsors and offers

  • Stryves by Stryver are ready-made Stryves we write. Some may be supported by a sponsor; these are clearly labelled. Sponsors never receive information about you; we may share anonymous totals for groups of at least 10 people.
  • Stryver may show offers inside the app, chosen from what you track, as our privacy notice explains. They’re labelled, and you can turn them off in Preferences. If you buy something through an offer, your contract is with that business, not with us.
  • Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We aren’t responsible for their content.

Stryver Plus

Stryver Plus is an optional subscription that adds features to Stryver. What it includes is shown in the app before you subscribe.

  • Billing. You subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play. They take the payment, and their terms apply to it. We never see your card.
  • Free trial. Where offered, a free trial turns into a paid subscription at the end unless you cancel before it ends. We’ll remind you before you’re first charged.
  • Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep Stryver Plus until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel the subscription.
  • Price changes. If the price changes, we’ll tell you in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
  • Founding price. If you subscribe at a founding price, you keep it while your subscription continues without a break.
  • Refunds and your right to cancel are handled by Apple or Google under their policies and the law. Your statutory rights aren’t affected.
  • If Stryver Plus ends, nothing you’ve logged is deleted. Features that need Stryver Plus stop working, as the app explains.

Changes to Stryver and to these terms

  • Stryver will change over time: we’ll add things, improve things, and sometimes take things away. If we remove something significant that you pay for, we’ll tell you in advance and, where appropriate, offer a refund for the part of your subscription you haven’t used.
  • If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we’ll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using Stryver and delete your account.

Our responsibility to you

  • We provide Stryver with reasonable care and skill. We can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors, but we’ll work to fix problems quickly.
  • If we break these terms, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breach or of our failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you started using Stryver.
  • Stryver is for personal use. We’re not responsible for business losses.
  • We’re not responsible for the activities you choose to do, or for decisions you make based on Stryver.
  • Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can’t be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Ending this agreement

  • You can stop using Stryver and delete your account at any time.
  • We may end this agreement or suspend your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to by law. Where we can, we’ll give you notice and a chance to download your data first.
  • If we ever stop running Stryver, we’ll give you reasonable notice, the chance to download your data, and a pro-rata refund of any subscription you’ve paid for and can’t use.

Apple and Google

If you downloaded Stryver from the App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren’t responsible for Stryver or for supporting it. Their own terms also apply to your use of their stores.

Complaints and disputes

If something’s wrong, please tell us first at our contact form and we’ll try to put it right. For subscription payments, Apple or Google can also help.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

General

  • If a court decides part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don’t enforce something straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • We may transfer this agreement to another organisation that takes over Stryver; we’ll tell you, and your rights won’t be reduced. You may not transfer your account to someone else.
  • Nobody else has rights under these terms.
